At ULURU LIGHTING, we specialize in handcrafted chandeliers made to order. This ensures you receive a unique piece, but it also takes time to create and deliver.

1. How long does it take to receive my package?
Receiving your package involves two main phases: Processing Time and Shipping Time.

Processing Time: 8 - 10 Business days

During this time, we verify your contact information, confirm delivery address, arrange accessories for assembly or production, conduct strict power quality testing and packaging goods. Once your order is ready, it will be transferred to the shipping company, we are not a shipping agent.

Shipping Time:

The time it takes to receive your order depends on the package size, your location, and the chosen shipping method. Please see the table below for estimated delivery windows:

Package Size Shipping Method Estimated Delivery Time
Small (60cm*40cm)
Standard 20-24 days
Expedited 12-22 days (additional cost applies)
Large (80cm*40cm)
Standard 22-26 days
Expedited 15-20 days (additional cost applies)
Oversize (100cm*40cm)
Standard 24-28 days
Expedited 15-22 days (additional cost applies)
Extra Large (120cm*60cm)

Expedited 15-22 days (additional cost applies)

For instance, shipping an oversize package (100cm x 60cm x 60cm) urgently to Toronto, Canada via Expedited DHL Shipping can take between 10 to 15 days with a shipping cost of $850 USD. (2024)

2. How much does shipping cost?

Standard Shipping: FREE

  • Standard shipping is provided at no additional cost.

Expedited Shipping: Additional Cost

  • Due to the bulkiness of our items, expedited shipping incurs a significant cost. Customers must contact us for a detailed quote and are responsible for the additional charges.

3. Customs Duties

For EUROPE orders, any customs duties or import fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Customs policies vary by country.

4. How do I estimate the Delivery Time?

Estimated Delivery Time = Processing Time + Shipping Time

  • The Estimated Delivery Date depends on your location and the chosen shipping method. Since we don't keep pre-made stock and produce chandeliers only after an order is confirmed, this ensures the highest quality for you. The delivery estimates also take into account parts availability in our warehouse and unforeseen factors such as strikes or natural disasters. We will notify you in advance if there are any factors that might cause delays.

5. Important Notes

  • Expedited Shipping: Need your chandelier faster? Contact us with your desired delivery time frame and location, and we'll provide a personalized quote.
  • Order Changes: If you change your order details (e.g., color, size, wire) after placing the order, Processing Time is recalculated from the time the changes are confirmed.
  • Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect addresses, changes to your order after placement, missed delivery attempts, or remote delivery locations.

6. Additional Information

  • Tracking Information: Within 1-2 business days after dispatch, we will send the tracking number to your registered email.
  • P.O. Boxes and Military Addresses: We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes or military addresses (APO, FPO). For US territories, please specify your location in the country section (e.g., Guam, Puerto Rico).

NOTE

1. Turn Off the Power
Before you begin any electrical work, it’s crucial to turn off the power to the room where the chandelier will be installed. This can be done by switching off the circuit breaker or fuse box that controls the lighting in the area. Additionally, turn off the light switch as a safety precaution. Use a voltage tester to confirm that no electricity is running through the wires. Safety is paramount when dealing with electrical fixtures.

2. Check and Prepare Your Chandelier Parts
Once you’ve ensured the power is off, take the time to inspect your new chandelier parts. Compare the contents with the manufacturer’s installation instructions to ensure all parts are included and undamaged. Missing or damaged parts should be reported to the manufacturer for replacement before you begin the installation process.

3. Mark the Mounting Holes and Measure
Before drilling any holes, you need to determine the correct placement for your chandelier. Use a tape measure to calculate the desired height from the ceiling to the surface below, especially if installing over a dining table or kitchen island. Ideally, a chandelier should hang 30-36 inches above a table if you have an 8-foot ceiling. Adjust the chain or rod length accordingly, ensuring the chandelier’s placement fits your room’s dimensions.

Once you’ve identified the right height, hold the included mounting bracket against the wall or ceiling and mark the screw hole locations with a pencil. Ensure the bracket is level.

4. Drill Holes and Secure the Ceiling Box
Using a power drill, carefully drill holes where you’ve marked for the mounting bracket. Insert wall anchors into the holes to provide secure support for the chandelier. It's essential to check that your ceiling box can handle the chandelier's weight. If necessary, tighten any loose screws in the ceiling box and ensure it is securely attached to the ceiling joist or wood block.

For heavier chandeliers, make sure the ceiling box is properly rated to handle the fixture’s weight. This step ensures the chandelier remains securely mounted for years to come.

5. Remove the Old Fixture
If you are replacing an old light fixture, carefully remove it by unscrewing it from the ceiling box and disconnecting the wiring. This will make room for your new chandelier. Ensure that all wires are properly disconnected before proceeding with the installation.

6. Connect the Wiring
With the mounting bracket securely in place, it’s time to connect the wires. First, remove the cover from the chandelier’s wiring compartment. Inside, you’ll find three essential wires: the black (live/hot), white (neutral), and green or bare copper (ground) wires. Match each wire from the chandelier to its corresponding wire in the ceiling box.

Black wire connects to the black wire from the ceiling.
White wire connects to the white ceiling wire.
Ground wire connects to the ground wire (usually green or copper).
Secure the connections with wire nuts and wrap electrical tape around them for extra protection. Once all wires are connected, carefully tuck them into the ceiling box to avoid any pinching when the fixture is installed.

7. Mount the Chandelier
Now it’s time to attach the chandelier to the ceiling. Align the holes in the chandelier’s mounting bracket with the anchors or ceiling box. Insert the screws through the bracket and tighten them with a screwdriver. Make sure the chandelier is securely mounted and hangs straight.

8. Assemble the Chandelier
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for assembling your chandelier. This step may involve attaching the arms, light bulbs, crystals, or other decorative elements. At Uluru Lighting, our chandeliers come with detailed assembly guides to help you piece together your light fixture with ease.

9. Clean the Chandelier
Once installed, take a few moments to clean your chandelier. Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to wipe off any fingerprints or dust that may have accumulated during installation. Cleaning will give your chandelier that final polished look.

10. Turn the Power Back On
Once everything is securely installed and assembled, you can restore power to the room by switching the circuit breaker or fuse box back on. Flip the light switch to test your new chandelier and bask in its beauty!
